“What you doing outside in the sun? You should be inside, you’ll turn dark like me…” (2018)

This work included a long incantation, reflecting on my first year back in England following seven years living and working in India. Installed at LIMBO, Margate, a former electricity substation, the text was printed on paper and cut to form a single continuous line of words circling the perimeter of the exhibition space; before continuing its way to be situated within two nearby convenience stores. Accompanied by sound works, Shop Talk X, Y & Z, which further connected the three spaces, carrying traces of audio from the stores to the substation and vice versa.
